Domain acquisition
Let’s work out how to get you there.
You may know exactly which domain name you want. The harder part is finding a route to the owner, understanding what a purchase could involve and handling the negotiation. NameFight helps you work through those decisions and manage the acquisition.
Start with the brief.
We begin with your business, the domain name and what you want it to achieve. Your budget, timing and any previous contact with the owner help shape the approach. We’ll agree the work and fees before starting an engagement.
Your budget guides the work. Offers and purchase terms are agreed with you before a commitment is made.
What we handle
- Assessing the acquisition opportunity and discussing a realistic budget.
- Researching ownership and suitable contact routes.
- Approaching the owner and managing the conversation.
- Negotiating offers and purchase terms for your approval.
- Coordinating the purchase and transfer with the relevant providers.

Domain discovery
Still exploring your options?

The scope is agreed around your brief, with acquisition work arranged separately if you decide to pursue an option.
Questions
Common questions
How long does an acquisition take?
Timing depends on reaching the owner, their willingness to negotiate and the transaction itself. Tell us about any deadline at the outset so we can discuss the approach and alternatives.
Can you help if the domain already has a website?
It may still be worth exploring, but an active website can mean the domain is important to its current owner. We assess that context before deciding how to approach the acquisition.
I’ve already contacted the owner. Can you take over?
Share the correspondence and any offers already made when we discuss the brief. That history helps us decide what to do next.
Can you keep my identity private?
We can discuss representing you during initial outreach without identifying your business, where appropriate. The disclosure needed to complete a purchase depends on the agreement and transaction providers. We’ll agree the approach with you.
Who owns the domain after the purchase?
The intended outcome is transfer into your chosen registrar account under the agreed purchase terms. We coordinate that process with the seller and relevant providers.
Will you contact the owner as soon as I enquire?
An enquiry starts a conversation with NameFight. We agree the scope and approach with you before outreach begins.
Can you help me sell a domain?
NameFight focuses on helping clients acquire domains. Our related business, DomainJoy, holds and sells its own portfolio.
Which domain do you have in mind?
Tell us what you’re building and the name you’re considering. We’ll review the brief and get in touch to discuss the next step.
